Description
The Resistance Traction Strap is a sterile, single-use surgical accessory that connects to a shoulder traction tower/system to apply up to 18 kg of traction force during shoulder arthroscopy surgery.
During shoulder arthroscopy, the surgical team holds the joint in a controlled, distracted position for clear visualization and instrument access. That takes a strap-and-tower connection rated to a known maximum traction force, supplied sterile and ready for direct use in theatre.
The strap has three components: a padded black strap, a clear die-cut plastic square, and a braided dark grey rope. Each component holds fixed dimensions and materials, so the assembly performs consistently at its rated 18 kg maximum traction force.
Storage
- Store the Sterile Resistance Traction Strap in its original, sealed packaging until point of use.
- Maintain storage conditions at 15–30°C with relative humidity below 70%, unless otherwise indicated on the product labelling.
- Protect from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.
- Do not store near chemicals, solvents, or sharp objects that could compromise the sterile barrier.
Handling
- Handle only with clean, dry hands or appropriate protective gloves to avoid contamination.
- Inspect the sterile barrier system before use. Do not use if the packaging is opened, torn, or otherwise compromised.
- Avoid excessive pulling, twisting, or bending during handling before use.
- Do not re-sterilise or reuse unless explicitly authorised and validated.
